A very good friend of mine, and former colleague, Kristle, recently wanted me to do some photos of her and her two adorable children at work in the Photo Studio. I told her I wasn’t going back, but duh, I’m a photographer outside of work too! She gave me free reign of everything, from: locations, editing style, posing, shooting style, etc. We had a very fun afternoon of trekking through burr-infested bushes, clearing out litter, trekking through a factory field of tall grasses and weeds, and playing Skylanders. These photos are of Kristle and Finn, aged 3; in a few weeks I get to photograph Kristle, Finn, and Miss Julia (aged 10) together, and greatly look forward to it! Enjoy the extreme cuteness and love between these two!

And last, but not least, what might be my favourite shot of the day…

Onwards and Upwards

Two days ago, my little (I guess I have to stop calling her that) cousin graduated from grade 8. Next year: high school and bigger and better things. My little cousins have been through and seen so much in previous years. They have kept together as sisters, and stayed strong. It was a pleasure to help celebrate Ashley’s big day, and I loved every minute of it. I look forward to capturing Alison’s grade 12, and Rachel’s grade 8 graduations. Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day! Love, Carlie.

Mid-April, I was laid off from my grocery store job. Funny right? It may have been one of the best things to happen; I was stuck in a rut and miserable. But now I’ve been doing some job hunting (which sucks), and some soul searching (which doesn’t suck), hanging out with friends, taking some work-related classes, reading a lot, but mostly I’ve been bored. Every once in a while, I’ll get out taking pictures. A friend of mine, Taylor, and myself have been collaborating a lot lately. Here’s a few examples of our collaborations; I take the photos, and make her do all the running around and hard work 😉

Recently had some film developed from when I went to Toronto for the day to see Final Fantasy Live. I found a neat little alley way near Church St. and fell in love with the tree.

I’ve recently gotten myself into archery (with help from Taylor); it is one amazing, and highly addictive sport! So, to commemorate, here’s some shots I did of Taylor and her bow.

Here’s a fun long exposure of us on the pier at Port Bruce!

I’ve been on hiatus… again. But in lieu of the nice 30 degree weather we’ve been having lately, I managed to get out today and get some shots of a friend’s really cute son, Hunter.

Forsythe Family Photos

Recently, my Uncle had asked me to take some photos of his family, so we arranged to take them yesterday afternoon before our annual Christmas dinner. The day started off nice and sunny, but by the time we were to leave, the sun obliged, and went away for a bit so I could have a nice overcast day to work with. It was nice getting back into portraits (and digital), after a long hiatus, consisting mainly of film and street photography, and working non-stop throughout the holiday season. I’m still in shock over how much my cousins have grown (and how much I haven’t). Overall, I’m very pleased with how these turned out.

Toronto, December 2011

Earlier this month, I spent another weekend in Toronto with my good friend Nancy. We went to celebrate our birthdays together, as well as prepare of the crazy Christmas season ahead of us. Again, I brought my trusty Pentax along for the ride, and here’s a couple of shots I managed to get (and like); again adding to the theme of hot dog vendors and other street photos.
